    The groundbreaking was held on 15 January 2026 at the Tham Lương depot. The adjusted project was approved by the city on 31 December 2025, with completion set for Q4 2030; THACO was selected as main EPC contractor. It is the first city project to use the special mechanisms of Resolution 188. VIRO found no newer progress report.

    This phase is 11.3 km from Bến Thành along Cách Mạng Tháng Tám and Trường Chinh, ending at Tân Bình station rather than at Tham Lương, which the line is named for.
