What the record shows
- Reported3 Oct 2026A Government report to the National Assembly put the project at about 81% of contract value (VND 19,986 billion). By component: Tây Ninh 95.6%, HCMC 82.1%, Đồng Nai 78.8%, former Bình Dương 71.7%. Of VND 5,184 billion allocated for 2026, VND 2,332 billion (45%) had been disbursed.
- Reported3 Oct 2026Localities are working to finish about 68.9 km of the 70.4 km main line in 2026, so the project may not meet the end-2026 deadline set by Resolution 57/2022/QH15. Remaining items move to Q1 2027: about 1.5 km awaiting soft-soil settlement, two left-turn bridge branches and the National Highway 1 overpass at the Tân Vạn interchange, and the whole ITS, weigh-station and control-centre system.
- Reported3 Oct 2026The planned 30 September temporary opening of the 14.7 km elevated section on the former Thủ Đức City side was missed, attributed in part to heavy rain in September. On 2 October a city vice-chairman inspected the works and required it opened during November.
- Reported12 Aug 2026Individual components were reported at roughly 71%–95% completion on 12 August 2026.
